Mathias Colomb Cree First Nation Pukatawagan Grocery Store

Sobey’s St. Vital Renovation

Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Completion: August 2021
Project Details: Parkwest Projects acted as the General Contractor for the complete renovation of the 33,300 square foot Sobey’s Grocery store located at 1500 Dakota Street in the community of St.Vital in Winnipeg. The project saw a complete interior refresh, including required demolition and subsequent fit up of refrigeration, painting, floors, lighting and more. Also included in the scope of work were significant upgrades to the front entrance and façade of the building. We utilized our teams experience in the completion of grocery store renovations in active locations to successfully complete this project for the ownership group and franchisee.

 

Lorette Co-op Food Store Renovation

Client: Federated Co-operative Ltd.
Location: Lorette, Manitoba
Completion: 2021
Project Details: Parkwest Projects continued upon its expertise in the large renovations of active food stores with the upgrades to the Lorette Co-op Food Store. Added to the complexity of the project was completing the work alongside the general public during the COVID-19 Pandemic. The work included a complete interior refresh to modern store finishes, as well as exterior upgrades to match the look of other Co-op Food Stores around the province. The 22,000 square foot building was complete renovated in less than 6-months.

 

St. Norbert Co-op Food Store

Client: Federated Co-operative Ltd.
Location: St. Norbert, Manitoba
Completion: 2021
Project Details: Parkwest Projects was contracted to complete the construction of a new, 33,000 Square Foot Co-op Food Store on Pembina Highway in St. Norbert, Manitoba. This new modern facility filled the lot that was left vacant after the old store was demolished due to flooding issues in the building. The facility now provides food services right in the community and is conveniently located across the Winnipeg Renowned St. Norbert Farmer’s Market.

 

St. Vital Co-op Food Store Renovation

Client: Federated Co-operative Ltd.
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Completion: 2021
Project Details: Parkwest Projects acted as the Construction Manager of the major renovation at the St. Vital Co-op Food Store located at 850 Dakota Street in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This approximately 58,000 square foot building required significant upgrades to modernize the location and bring the look up to the current Co-op branding. Parkwest provided pre-construction services, utilizing our past experience in complex grocery store renovations, to help design the appropriate phasing that would be required to complete this project. Shortly after starting, the construction team was faced with a major challenge in completing the project while working in a public space during the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The team adapted immediately, implementing required protocols to keep both the customers, staff and construction workers safe while maintaining construction progress as best as possible.

 

Safeway Henderson

Client: Safeway Canada
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Completion: 2011
Project Details: After having completed numerous other Safeway Grocery store new-builds, Parkwest Projects was selected as the General Contractor for the completion of the 49,000 sq. ft. new age Safeway store model to the corner of Henderson Highway and Chief Peguis Trail. This project was met with aggressive schedule target, which were achieved by Parkwest Projects after having reached substantial completion within a 6-month time-frame. This was an incredible achievement for a project of this magnitude, and the second time we have achieved this goal on a Safeway grocery store.

 

Safeway Ness

Client: Safeway Canada
Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Completion: 2019
Project Details: Parkwest Projects was selected to construct the brand new Safeway Grocery store located along Ness Avenue and Kenaston Boulevard as part of the revitalization of Winnipeg’s Madison Square. Following the completion of the grocery under an accelerated construction schedule, we constructed the grocery chains adjacent gas bar.

 

Dauphin Co-Op Foodstore

Client: Dauphin Consumers Coop
Location: Dauphin, Manitoba
Completion: 2016
Project Details: Parkwest Projects completed a 3,000 ft2 addition and complete exterior/interior renovation to this 23,000 sq. ft. retail facility. Starting a project in the dead of winter posed some challenges to the project. Parkwest Project’s vast experience with cold weather construction, kept the project on time and within budget. We were able to keep the store fully operational during the entire construction period.

The upgrades to the building, along with the addition, provided the cooperative with an up to date, energy efficient building and added greatly needed warehousing and user space. Some of the items included in this construction project were, new/upgraded mechanical/electrical systems, new refrigeration system, coolers, cases and walk-in boxes, improved exterior wall system, roof, new metal siding, new interior finishes, signage, lighting and site development.

When completed, the value this project added to the facility and the community was acknowledged by the Cooperative to our team. We continue to address the cooperatives needs to this day.

 

Oak Bank Co-op Food Store

Client: Federated Co-operative Ltd.
Location: Oak Bank, Manitoba
Completion: Original Build: 2009
Addition & Renovation: 2020
Project Details: Parkwest Projects was originally contracted in 2008 to complete the construction of the new Co-op Grocery Food Store for Oak Bank, Manitoba. In the years since completion, the town has grown significantly creating a need for a bigger and renewed store location. In 2019 Parkwest was contracted again to complete the addition and full interior renovation of the existing store, including the relocation and construction of a new store entrance.

 

Neepawa Co-op 

Client: Federated Co-operative Ltd.
Location: Neepawa, Manitoba
Completion: 2014
Project Details: Parkwest Projects acted as the General Contractor in the completion of the brand new, 22,000 sq. ft Co-op grocery food store located in Neepawa Manitoba. The one-story, wood frame building was constructed to serve the growing community by providing increased space over the old store for fresh food, a deli, and bakery. The building was completed in time to celebrate the organizations 85th year in the community.
